Boonie Bears: The Wild Life is a 2021 Chinese animated fantasy comedy film, the seventh feature film in the Boonie Bears series. Originally planned for a 25 January 2020 release, it was delayed by the COVID-19 outbreak and ultimately released in mainland China on 12 February 2021 (Chinese New Year). In the film, when “Wild Land” opens on Pine Tree Mountain, Vick participates in a transformation contest with Bramble and a mysterious man. When guests who have been transformed into animals turn wild and start attacking people, Vick and the two bears bravely respond to the crisis. A new theme park called Wild Land opens, where guests can use gene-altering bracelets to transform into all kinds of animals. Vick finds out that Wild Land is having a contest with a prize of a million dollars and decides to participate. He, Bramble, and a mysterious man named Leon work together and win the contest. Soon after, the park’s owner Tom catches Leon trying to secretly copy the park’s data, and Vick discovers that hybrid guests are causing trouble and attacking others. The film is focused on the theme of happiness. It explores the essence of happiness and how happiness influences human behavior. The directors expressed hope that both children and adults watching the movie would think about the question of what happiness is. They hoped the film would make audiences think about their lives and their futures.
